The Warriors suffered their second loss of the season in Hull, despite tries in the second half from Abbas Miski and Liam Farrell.
“Hull KR started with great intent and great energy and they were the better team throughout the 80 minutes,” Peet stated in reflection on the defeat. We started the game a little too softly defensively, and when it came time to defend our goal line, we weren’t in the right position. Although the second half’s comeback somewhat satisfied me, overall, our offensive was hampered by some bad defense.
Peet commented, “Sometimes the lessons are more obvious than others and tonight it was pretty clear where we were off,” when asked about the lessons to be learned from the loss. A few people, including members of the staff, raised their hands in the changing room to point out the things we need to improve on in order for our performances to reach their potential.
For the first time this season, Ethan Havard played off the substitute bench. Peet commented on Havard’s comeback to the field, saying, “It was good to see Ethan out there and I thought he did okay.” He’ll undoubtedly get stronger and stronger.
“I’ve said all week that I don’t think the two fixtures will have a knock on effect on one another as there’s still plenty of rugby to be played in between,” Peet stated in reference to next month’s Betfred Challenge Cup semi-final matchup against Hull KR. Whatever happens, we’re going to become better for the Catalan people.”
