Starting with Romeo Doubs, one of Love’s primary targets, the Packers’ wide receiver participated in practice with the team in Brazil. However, his involvement was limited due to a hand injury. This injury is particularly concerning because it could impact his ability to catch or secure the ball if pain or discomfort arises. Nevertheless, there are signs of improvement, as evidenced by his continued presence on the field during practice sessions leading up to the game against the Eagles, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.
“It was a contusion on my hand, and it’s taking some time to heal. It’s a day-to-day process… I was able to function in practice the way I’m supposed to,” Doubs shared.
In addition to Doubs, the Packers also received an update on their rookie running back, MarShawn Lloyd. Lloyd has been dealing with an injury that has kept him from participating in practice. Instead of joining his teammates on the field, he has been seen using a stationary bike. Unlike Emanuel Wilson, who has returned to practice after recovering from a hip injury, Lloyd has not yet had the opportunity to bond with the other running backs during their preparations.
While this might suggest that Lloyd is experiencing pain or a setback, Coach LaFleur clarified that this was part of their plan all along. He mentioned that after two days of practice, this approach was intentional and not a cause for concern.
Meanwhile, other injured players are making progress. Cooper Edgerrin, who also suffered a hip injury, has returned to practice with the linebackers. Valentine Carrington, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury, is back on the field as well. Although both players were limited participants, they have made significant strides in their recovery.
