Several Detroit Lions players are finalists for awards at the annual “NFL Honors” presentation, which is hosted by the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, following a successful 2024 NFL season.
“I thought Dan did a phenomenal job of preparing the team every week, week in and week out,” general manager Brad Holmes expressed to reporters this week. “I thought he did a phenomenal job navigating adversity when it did arise. I think from an identity standpoint, I do think that our opponents knew who they were getting ready to play when they were ready to face us each week. And I think the world of Dan. He’s a special leader, special coach and he’s those things because he’s a special human being.”
Ben Johnson is a finalist for Assistant of the Year, and head coach Dan Campbell is up for Coach of the Year.
Jahmyr Gibbs and Sam LaPorta, two rookies for the Lions, are competing for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Kevin Stefanski, Kyle Shanahan, DeMeco Ryans, Dan Campbell and John Harbaugh are vying for coach of the Year.
For the 2024 season, Johnson has once again chosen to rejoin Motown. He will face Mike Macdonald, Todd Monken, Jim Schwartz, and Bobby Slowik.
Thursday’s NFL Honors will start at 9 p.m. and be broadcast live on NFL Network and CBS.
