After Leeds United’s loss in the play-off final on Sunday, Everton are keen and confident about finalizing a permanent deal for Jack Harrison, reports the Daily Mail.
The future of Jack Harrison at Leeds United was uncertain, but with Leeds failing to secure promotion to the Premier League, Everton is now eager to make his move permanent. Leeds’ last chance for an immediate return to the top flight was dashed when they lost 1-0 to Southampton in the Championship play-off final on Sunday.
With Leeds needing to balance their finances, Everton is confident about signing Harrison. The 27-year-old made 35 appearances for Sean Dyche’s team this season, scoring four goals, although he missed the final two games due to a hamstring injury. Before their last away game against Arsenal, Everton confirmed they would keep in touch with Leeds regarding Harrison’s future once Leeds’ play-off campaign concluded.
Harrison played a crucial role in helping Everton avoid relegation despite the team facing two points deductions. Dyche values Harrison and hopes to retain him for next season, where he would join the frontline alongside Dwight McNeil and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Harrison might not be the only departure from Elland Road this summer. Wilfried Gnonto and Championship Player of the Season Crysencio Summerville are also expected to attract offers during the transfer window. If Harrison can stay fit, he has the potential to be a key player for Everton, leveraging his Premier League experience to contribute significantly next season.
