Sunderland’s interim manager, Mike Dodds, praised Leeds United as the “best team in the league” despite their goalless draw on April 9th.
Despite Leeds’ impressive home record, aiming for a tenth consecutive Championship victory, they struggled to make headway against Sunderland.
Dodds described Leeds’ performance as lacking dynamism, expressing that at no point did he feel they would score.
Despite multiple penalty appeals, Leeds failed to breach Sunderland’s well-organized defense.
This draw marked Sunderland’s acquisition of four points from Daniel Farke’s team this season.
Dodds said: “I think they are the best team in the league from what I have seen. To come here and obviously play them earlier in the year and not concede any goal over two games says everything about the group, and says everything about the kind of preparation for the two games.”
