Leeds United fans will be hoping that the seemingly-imminent departure of Crysencio Summerville allows the Whites to kick their transfer business into another gear as the new Championship season looms.
Summerville is on the verge of joining West Ham in what is definitely a big blow to Leeds’ hopes of clearing that final hurdle which tripped Daniel Farke’s side up last season.
The Elland Road faithful will hope that a deal opens the door for Farke to welcome more new signings following the arrivals of Joe Rodon, Alex Cairns, Joe Rothwell and Jayden Bogle.
Leeds have definitely been bright in pre-season ahead of the final friendly with Valencia on Saturday, but there may be some problems from last season Farke may still want to address before the Championship campaign kicks off – including the lack of goals from central midfield.
Leeds interested in Liverpool youngster
Leeds simply cannot afford to go the entire campaign without a goal from the middle of the park again, with Ilia Gruev only ending that run in the second-leg of the play-off semi-final with his inspired free-kick against Norwich City.
So perhaps it is a promising sign that, according to DaveOCKOP on Instagram, Leeds are one of the teams to have shown interest in Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark in recent weeks. The account claims that Red Bull Salzburg have had a £6 million bid rejected, with Pep Lijnders looking to take the youngster with him to Austria. Meanwhile, Rangers and Norwich are also reportedly admirers.
It is not clear whether Leeds are preparing to make any sort of move for the 19-year-old, but he would potentially be an exciting addition following a campaign in which he reached double figures for appearances for the Reds’ first-team. Of course, the highlight came when he was one of the players to come on in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.
