In order to make room for some of their best new recruits, lead by Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid may have to say goodbye to a few members of their present team in the summer.
Out-of-favor midfielder Dani Ceballos is one such player who seems set to move on at the end of the current campaign.
The Spanish international chose to sign a new contract last summer in the hopes of competing for a spot in Carlo Ancelotti’s team, even though he had the option to leave Real Madrid for free.
But Ceballos has only played in 21 games this season, totaling 503 minutes, as a result of an injury and competition for playing time.
As a result, Ceballos has made the decision to leave Real Madrid this summer, and it doesn’t seem like the team will stop him.
Real Madrid requested €8 million.
Indeed, as Fichajes claimed, Real Madrid has merely asked for €8 million in order to ease Ceballos’ departure during the summer transfer window.
In the past, Los Blancos have sold several academy players for amounts that are comparable to that sum.
With three years remaining on his contract, Ceballos, who is 27 years old, is likely in his prime. However, it seems like Los Blancos are willing to let him depart in the summer for a discounted price.
Additionally, the source states that AC Milan has expressed interest in signing the Spanish midfield player. The Rossoneri have identified Ceballos as a potential target in their search for midfield reinforcements.
Nearby, Ceballos’ boyhood team, Real Betis, has also been mentioned in connection with a move, and Real Madrid’s bitter rivals Atletico Madrid have also surfaced as possible destinations.
Though exactly things play out in the upcoming weeks is still to be seen, Ceballos’ departure this summer seems inevitable.
