Latest news: Atlanta Braves uniforms will be replaced in 2024 by a new Nike style.

The Braves uniform design seems to be changing as a result of Nike updating their MLB jersey pattern for 2024.

Since its debut, the Atlanta Braves uniform has grown to be legendary; nonetheless, two of the team’s jerseys will change in 2024.

From tweaking the writing to adjusting the slant, the team has made minor changes to the uniform numerous times since it introduced the style in 1987. The modification this year may go unnoticed by the uninitiated eye.

Nike, the company that supplies MLB with uniforms, will launch the new Nike Vapor template in 2024. Consequently, a lot of teams are changing their jerseys to fit the template.

Even though the Braves have made only small changes, their presence will be felt on the field provided the new reproductions accurately depict the jerseys worn by players.

Let’s see how the Braves’ appearance is altered by the new framework.

Break in the chest mark
The initial alteration is not unique to the Braves. The script break is a little different in the new template since it is little narrower at the placket.

It could work out well for the Braves, at least in terms of the home shirts.

The Braves script has changed throughout time. The writing broke just after the A and before the V when the 1987 shirt was shown.

But, as time went on, that ceased to be the case. The script break moved, maybe due to a different manufacturer, a slightly different angle, or a thicker outline. The script broke in the A in 2023.

Astute uniform obsessives noted that the Dodgers’ script break had changed when the new template was made available. Eventually, Uni-Watch discovered that the placket was narrowed, which resulted in a modification to the teams’ script break.

Upon first inspection of the replica jersey, it seems like the A has been obscured in the Braves script, which has been modified.

This seems to be a remnant from previous years’ replicas, though. There will be a small alteration in the Braves script. I predict that it will split more cleanly between the letters A and V.

Furthermore, it’s yet unclear how the road jersey will be divided. This is how it appeared in 1987.

It also split exactly in the middle of the A in 2023. Based on my best estimation, it will split differently in 2023 than it did in 1987.

Piping on sleeves
Perhaps the most obvious distinction from the previous Braves jersey is this. The Braves’ home and away jerseys have had triple piping on the sleeves since 1987, which shows the jersey color underneath.

That no longer exists. It’s unclear how the alternate jerseys will be impacted, but both the home and road jerseys will be impacted.

The new Nike Vapor Template has resulted in the Braves triple piping being a tri-colored cuff. They are not the exclusive victims of the alteration. To comply with the blueprint, the Orioles are also changing their clothing.

The jersey’s back and other modifications
There is a little alteration to the jersey’s back as well. For some reason, Nike moved the MLB logo below the headspoon piping. As a result, it now rests between the player’s name and the piping rather than between the collar and the piping.

The Braves’ new uniform isn’t yet pictured, but the modifications are the same around the league.

This is how the Braves appeared in the previous campaign.
