Kieron Bowie Hibs’s injury concern is confirmed by Scot Gemmill as a hamstring blow.

Hibernian FC are anxiously awaiting updates on Kieron Bowie’s fitness after the striker sustained a hamstring injury during Scotland Under-21s’ commanding 5-0 victory over Malta. Bowie, who set up Josh Mulligan’s goal, was forced to leave the match at half-time, with the Scots comfortably leading 3-0.

Scotland U-21 boss Scot Gemmill confirmed that the former Fulham player will undergo scans to determine the severity of the injury. Hibs manager David Gray will be hoping that Bowie, one of their top summer signings, won’t face a long layoff, especially after an impressive start to his time at Easter Road.

Despite the injury setback, Gemmill praised his team’s overall performance, emphasizing how challenging it can be to win in difficult conditions such as Malta’s heat and less-than-ideal pitch. The Scotland U-21s are now set for a crucial Euro qualifying match against Belgium next month at Tynecastle.

Reflecting on the win, Gemmill noted the importance of continuing their strong form while addressing some defensive lapses, saying, “The only dampener to the night was the injury to Kieron Bowie, and he is being assessed now.”
