JUST IN: Dolphins RB De’Von Achane enters NFL history book with a remarkable average of 7.8 yards per carry

Only few runners in NFL history have had such an impact in their debut season as Dolphins running back De’Von Achane, who had numerous highlight-reel runs.

Achane achieved an incredible average of 7.8 yards per carry by the end of the season, accumulating 800 yards on 103 carries.

The last time a running back gained more yards per carry after 100 touches with the ball was in 1934, when Beattie Feathers, a rookie with the Bears, ran 119 times for 1,004 yards at an average of 8.4 yards per carry.

In a season with at least 100 carries, quarterbacks Michael Vick and Randall Cunningham have each over 7.5 yards per rush. However, Feathers and Achane are currently the only two running backs who have accomplished it.
