Just before the transfer portal shuts, the Ohio State football team lost another player.

There has been a great deal of activity over the transfer portal’s closure today. Although not many players have left the Buckeyes’ roster this spring, a few have in recent days. They just lost their backup offensive tackle and safety. Those details about depth are crucial.

Now, just before the portal closes, Ohio State has lost another player to the transfer market. Nigel Glover, a linebacker in the 2023 recruiting class, is no longer with them. Glover entered the high school season ranked as the seventh-best player in Ohio and a four-star prospect.

It was obvious from looking at the depth chart around him that he didn’t anticipate getting much playing time. This year, he most definitely wasn’t going to. Sonny Styles, C.J. Hicks, and Cody Simon. Caleb Downs moved in to make place for Styles, who is now playing linebacker.

With three more linebackers in the 2025 recruiting class expected to enter the field, Glover was merely a backup linebacker with little chance of seeing action. It would be best if he looked for another program where he could get playing time. It will require labor on his part.

Glover’s departure via the transfer link brings the Buckeyes’ roster to six players since the start of the spring window. That’s around how much we anticipated when the portal initially launched. These men wouldn’t have been starters for Ohio State’s football team this season. Glover will probably switch to a G5 program at this time. He still has a lot of time to succeed in his profession at another university. For the upcoming season, the Buckeyes will require space at linebacker. We hope Glover has the greatest possible experience at his next location.
