Jontay Porter’s brother, Michael gives honest verdict On Jontay’s Gambling Investigation

Investigations on Jontay Porter are ongoing due to several instances of abnormal betting over the previous few months. Prop bets featuring Porter from games on January 26 and March 20 are being looked into by the NBA.

Porter has missed the last three games as he has been away from the Raptors for personal reasons.
In a game against the Los Angeles Clippers on January 26, there was a surge in interest in betting on Porter’s under, according to a report released by Adrian Wojnarowski. Due to what the Raptors described as a re-aggravation of an eye issue, he exited the game after four minutes, and all the unders capitalized on him.

On March 2o, Porter then only played three minutes against the Phoenix Suns before leaving the game due to illness. The unders on Porter cashed in once again.

Through Rachel Strand of ClutchPoints, Michael Porter Jr. of the Denver Nuggets broke his silence over his younger brother’s ongoing investigation:

“I know Jontay loves the game of basketball. I know what type of dude he is, I highly doubt he’ll do anything to jeopardize that.”

Since sports betting was made legal in the majority of North America, this probe is the first significant gambling-related dispute involving the NBA.

Additionally, Porter Jr. was questioned on how difficult it is to stay impartial in the face of the overwhelming advertising for sports betting in the game these days, via Strand:

“People in the crowd are saying what they need you to score tonight, or what they don’t want you to score. Every night you’re disappointing someone…it’s part of the game now. I think it’s obviously a dangerous habit. It’s a dangerous vice for people. The love of money is the root of all evil so I think that even though it is a thing, we as players have to accept that.”

This season, Jontay Porter is averaging 4.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 0.8 three-pointers per game while playing for the Raptors.

His salary is $415,000, and he has a two-way contract.
