The Detroit Lions are faced with the task of filling a gap in their offensive line as left guard Jonah Jackson departs for a new chapter. Despite retaining Graham Glasgow, Jackson has inked a deal with the Los Angeles Rams, securing a three-year contract valued at $51 million, with $34 million guaranteed.
Jackson’s departure leaves a notable void in the left guard position, where he played a significant role in the Lions’ success. Since joining the organization as a third-round pick in 2020, he has been a consistent presence on the offensive line, starting 57 games and earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2021.
However, Jackson has grappled with injuries over the past two seasons, missing a total of six games, including the NFC Championship game last year. In his absence, the Lions turned to Colby Sorsdal and Kayode Awosika to fill the gap.
Now, Jackson joins the Rams’ offensive line, reuniting with former Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, who played alongside him in Jackson’s rookie year.
