“Joe Joyce Sets Ring Return Timeline and Envisions a ‘Once in a Lifetime’ Fight with Victory”

Joyce has been rather left out of the heavyweight conversation in the last few months following his shock back-to-back defeats to Chinese heavyweight Zhilei Zhang.

Both of Joe Joyce’s recent fights ended in knockouts, with the first concluded due to an eye injury, prompting the ringside doctor to stop the match. The second, more definitive knockout, resulted from a powerful right hook that left Joyce, entering the ring at his heaviest weight in his career, face down on the canvas.

The year concluded with significant victories for Daniel Dubois against Jarrell Miller and Joseph Parker against Deontay Wilder during the Day of Reckoning card. Notably, Joyce has previously defeated both of these opponents convincingly. As 2024 approaches, there is a chance for Joyce to reenter the spotlight.

In an interview with Boxing Social on the evening of the Day of Reckoning card, Joyce expressed his eagerness to return to the ring and regain his winning form.

“I have confidence in my abilities, and it would be gratifying to secure a victory on home turf. This could potentially open up opportunities for me to explore other avenues that have presented themselves in a once-in-a-lifetime manner.”

He was asked to clarify.

“You know, like tonight, maybe.”

It seems that Joe Joyce may be eyeing a bout with Anthony Joshua for the first time or potentially seeking rematches with Daniel Dubois and/or Joseph Parker to elevate his position in the division. However, it’s noteworthy that Dubois has already mentioned three other opponents he would like to face next, with no mention of Joyce in the mix.
