Everton’s summer has been enjoyable so far, but an underlying worry persists.
Despite an enjoyable summer, Everton have faced ongoing concerns about potential departures. While Amadou Onana’s sale has been confirmed, other key players like Jarrad Branthwaite, Jordan Pickford, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have also been linked with moves, though none have left so far.
James Tarkowski has recently voiced his hope that Branthwaite, in particular, will remain at Goodison Park a bit longer. Speaking after Everton’s 1-1 draw with AS Roma, Tarkowski expressed his desire for the young center-back to stay, noting Branthwaite’s outstanding performances last season and his potential for further improvement.
Tarkowski emphasized the value of Branthwaite staying and continuing to learn alongside him, pointing out that, despite Branthwaite’s impressive physical attributes, there’s much to gain from Tarkowski’s experience and guidance. A year with Tarkowski could enhance Branthwaite’s development and potentially lead to a more significant move next summer.
