Jack Clarke debuted for Ipswich Town last night following his departure from Sunderland.

Jack Clarke made his Ipswich Town debut after his £15 million move from Sunderland over the weekend. While his Carabao Cup appearance may not have drawn much attention from Sunderland fans, Clarke’s new chapter at Ipswich began with a start against AFC Wimbledon.

Sporting Ipswich’s purple, navy, and gold away kit, Clarke was joined by new teammates like Kalvin Phillips and Chiedozie Ogbene. Despite the debut being against League Two opposition, Clarke managed to make an impact.

Though he received a 7.1 rating from SofaScore, placing him sixth among Ipswich players, his performance was notable. Clarke boasted a 96% passing accuracy, 61 touches, and completed two successful dribbles. He also won 66% of his ground duels and earned two free-kicks.

The forward showed flashes of his trademark skill but missed out on a goal. He was substituted before the 80th minute, and while SofaScore didn’t name him Man of the Match, the East Anglian Daily Times did, giving him a 7 rating. The newspaper praised his clever movement and ball control, noting he just missed the decisive pass or shot due to a strong performance from Wimbledon’s right-back.

Clarke will look to make a bigger impression when Ipswich faces Southampton, West Ham, and Everton in the upcoming fixtures. Sunderland fans will be eager to see how Clarke fares in the Premier League debut this weekend.
