Ireland’s squad includes two Celtic players in addition to a goalkeeper.

The Ireland team selected by John O’Shea includes Celtic’s Adam Idah and Liam Scales for their upcoming friendly against Belgium and Switzerland. After a terrible run under Stephen Kenny, the Irish missed out on qualifying for Euro 2024, but they will try to do well as the FAI considers their future manager.

Under Brendan Rodgers, Scales has become a first-choice center back this season after seizing the chance presented to the defender due to back-row absences. Idah, meanwhile, has made an impact after joining on loan from Norwich City. Idah has made eight appearances, scoring five goals and providing one assist. Celtic is probably going to try to work out a permanent contract for the Irishman.

Caoimhin Kelleher, the rumored goalkeeping target for Celtic, has been added to the team and is expected to start at number one following his stellar Liverpool campaigns. Allison Becker’s replacement has been Kelleher after the Brazilian stopper was forced out due to an injury.

With the announcement that Joe Hart will be retiring at the end of the current campaign, Celtic has been searching for a new No. 1. Since the 75-cap England international is hanging up his gloves, Brendan Rodgers will need to find a new starting keeper, and Kelleher has been strongly connected to the position.
