Ipswich Town near key agreement for 27-goal striker, closing in on double signing

HITC reveals Ipswich Town have made a major breakthrough in signing their top striker target this summer.

Despite interest from Brighton & Hove Albion, Kieran McKenna chose to remain at Ipswich Town, leading to a busy summer in the transfer market for the club.

Ipswich has already secured a season-long loan deal for Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips, and now they are close to finalizing their top striker target.

HITC sources confirm that Ipswich has reached an agreement with Blackburn Rovers for striker Sammie Szmodics. The deal, reportedly worth just over £10 million with add-ons, will see the Irish international join Ipswich. Szmodics, who scored 27 goals in 44 Championship appearances last season, is eager to make the move to the Premier League.

Crystal Palace were also interested in Szmodics, but Ipswich has secured the forward. With both Phillips and Szmodics set to join, Ipswich expects a busy Friday to finalize these deals.
