Serie A champions Inter are nearing a deal for Genoa goalkeeper Josep Martinez, with both clubs having agreed on a transfer fee for the 26-year-old.
With Martinez entering the final year of his contract, Genoa needs to sell him now to avoid losing him as a free agent. Initially, Genoa proposed a cash plus player deal, but Inter preferred a cash-only settlement. After a brief standoff, the clubs have reached an agreement for Inter to pay an initial €13 million for Martinez, potentially rising to €15 million with bonuses and add-ons.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a few details remain to be finalized, but the deal is expected to be completed by the weekend. This would allow Martinez to join his new teammates at their summer training camp in early July.
