Inter Milan Intensify Pursuit of Arsenal’s Discontented Star

Inter Milan are intensifying their efforts to secure Arsenal’s 24-year-old defender Jakub Kiwior to strengthen their defense this summer.

According to today’s edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, reported by FCInterNews, Inter Milan is keen on bolstering their left-side defense.

The Nerazzurri had almost completed a deal for Hellas Verona’s Juan Cabal last week. However, Juventus made a last-minute offer that exceeded Inter’s, leading to Cabal’s transfer to the Serie A giants.

Now back at square one in their defensive search, Inter Milan remains focused on signing a left-footed defender to provide backup for Alessandro Bastoni. This move would allow Carlos Augusto to exclusively play as a wingback, especially with Tajon Buchanan sidelined due to a serious leg injury.

Inter’s primary target is Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior, who has emerged as a potential solution. The Polish international, who joined Arsenal from Spezia in January 2023, is facing competition for his spot with Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jurrien Timber, and Takehiro Tomiyasu also capable of playing in his position. Additionally, the arrival of Ricardo Calafiori from Bologna this summer further complicates Kiwior’s prospects.

With limited playing time expected, Kiwior is reportedly looking to move on from the Emirates. Inter Milan sees this as a significant opportunity and is eager to make Kiwior their major signing, though they are also considering other options like Robert Renan, Ricardo Rodriguez, and Mario Hermoso.
