Inter director Beppe Marotta emphasized Oaktree’s commitment to ensuring continuity within the club’s management structure and expressed confidence in securing a contract extension for Lautaro Martinez ahead of the pre-season.

The Nerazzurri directors, along with coach Simone Inzaghi, are set to meet with Oaktree representatives to discuss operational matters, marking the first substantive meeting since the American fund’s takeover from Suning.
Reflecting on Inter’s successful 2023-24 season, which saw them clinch their 20th Serie A title, Marotta highlighted the pivotal moment as their victory over Juventus. He also touched on the negotiations surrounding Lautaro Martinez’s contract extension, indicating ongoing discussions with the player’s agent, Camano.
Despite the contract’s expiry in June 2026, Marotta expressed confidence in reaching an agreement, noting Lautaro’s desire to remain with the club. The Argentine striker’s exceptional performance in the 2023-24 season, where he emerged as the Serie A leading scorer, further underscores his value to Inter.
