It seems that Roy Jones Jr. not ready to box yet. Despite losing to former UFC star Anthony Pettis in April, Roy Jones Jr. is not finished with his boxing career.
In recent weeks, the former MMA world champion has been linked with an exhibition fight against crossover star Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia, but talks have been muffled by an alternative opponent, MMA legend Anderson Silva.
The Brazilian is no stranger to big fights in the ring, when he faced Jake Paul last year, the contest ended in a unanimous decision victory for Paul.
Speaking to Action Network, Jones revealed that a legend fight card is planned for Saudi Arabia in the near future, and a possible matchup with Silva could be on that if the clash with Fury does not materialize. andquot;I’m still being approached about doing an exhibition with Anderson Silva on the legends card in Saudi Arabia, so if the Tommy Fury fight doesn’t happen, that and the other conversation will happen,andquot; Jones said.
andquot;The Saudis know how long that battle went on and they still want it to happen, so letand#039;s see.andquot;
Jones has only appeared in one exhibition match in his boxing career and that was against former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in November 2020, which ended in a draw.
