In response to one of Angel Reese’s detractors, The Chicago Sky called upon Stephen A. Smith

During her two seasons with the LSU women’s basketball team, Angel Reese was somewhat of a lightning rod. She made a lasting impression on Iowa fans when she made fun of Caitlin Clark during the national championship game in 2023. Fans of women’s basketball weren’t fond of Reese because she adopted a trash-talking style similar to many of her male peers. Even though Reese has joined the Chicago Sky of the WNBA, her detractors won’t go away simply because she’s a professional. In response to an X post by the Sky, one of Reese’s detractors felt compelled to use foul language.

The anonymous account posted on X, saying, “I speak for everyone when I say I will not be watching and angel reese is a classless thug.” In response, The Sky used the widely shared GIF of ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith saying, “I’m here to tell you right now – We don’t care.” Although some of the negative conversation about Reese was avoided by LSU’s social media accounts, it is clear that the Sky will be more than willing to weigh in on Reese’s behalf. The Sky take on the Dallas Wings on the road at 7 p.m. on Wednesday to kick off the 2024 regular season.
