If Leeds United tries to cash in this summer, Jesse Marsch says Brenden Aaronson will have “plenty of suitors.”

Two summers prior, Marsch had given his fellow American his senior debut with the New York Red Bulls before signing him to Red Bull Salzburg. This was Marsch’s third experience working with him.

But after Leeds was relegated and Marsch was fired in February, Aaronson had a dismal season and used his release clause to sign a loan deal with Union Berlin, a Champions League team.

With two games left, Union, which finished fourth in the previous season, is two points clear of the Bundesliga’s relegation play-off berth.

In the league, Aaronson has made 16 appearances as a substitute in addition to starting 12 games. He has two goals and one assist.

He is only one of several players on whom Leeds may make judgments, including Marc Roca, Sam Greenwood, Jack Harrison, Diego Llorente, and Rasmus Kristensen, who are all expected to return from season-long loans. This season, financial fair play requirements will be followed much more seriously, so it will be vital to sell as many of those as possible that they do not want.

Leeds is currently unsure of the division in which they will compete. In the semi-finals of the Championship play-offs, they take on Norwich City.
When asked if Leeds could preserve his £28 million signing given the lack of evidence that Union will attempt to seal the deal, Marsch stated, “I don’t really know what the thought process would be,” on the Call It What You Want podcast with CBS Sports. I am aware that the supporters were quite harsh on all of the players that left despite having contracts that allowed them to be sold or loaned out.
I am uncertain about the club’s current state of affairs and mindset.”

It should come as no surprise that he anticipates high bidding if the American playmaker were to go up for sale.

In Europe, there would be no shortage of suitors,” he said. “We do know that he must return to playing regular minutes. He played a little bit more, made more of an impression, and generally had better performances in the second half of the season.

What a wonderful child he is. He is an extremely talented player. He will always give the team his best; all I want is for him to succeed and go somewhere that will allow him to play football in a style that will benefit the team and earn him rewards.

“I believe he’ll discover that. Though I’m not sure where it will be, I believe he will locate that.
