Sheffield Wednesday may shift their focus to signing Sory Kaba from Las Palmas due to potential financial constraints in securing a permanent deal for Ike Ugbo from Troyes. Ugbo, who joined on loan from the French club after spending the first half of the season with Cardiff City, made a significant impact by scoring seven goals and providing one assist in 19 games, helping to maintain the club’s Championship status.
Despite Ugbo’s impressive performance, Sheffield Wednesday might find the cost of a permanent transfer prohibitive, according to journalist Darren Witcoop. As a backup plan, the club is reportedly considering Sory Kaba, a striker from Las Palmas who has prior experience in the Championship from his time with Cardiff during the 2022/23 season.
Kaba joined the La Liga side last summer but is now available for transfer after just one season. He has garnered interest from several Championship clubs, making him a viable alternative for Sheffield Wednesday.
