Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, disputes any disagreement he may have with Raphael Varane, our French defender. But given that we’ve already witnessed Ten Hag’s confrontation with both Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo, it won’t come as a surprise if he did have a problem with the player.
Ten Hag stated in a conversation:
” Rapha? It’s rumors, so I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Very significant player, but as we are at the top club, there should be internal competition.
In the Manchester derby, the Frenchman was chosen ahead of Jonny Evans, and he has since been chosen as a substitute in United’s last three games. The World Cup winner Varane, who got along well with Lisandro Martinez, was a regular last season. This term, Varane has struggled to find opportunities.
Varane moved from Real Madrid to United in 2021 for a fee of £41 million. Over the course of the previous season, he and Lisandro Martinez developed a strong bond. Even though Erik ten Hag has denied that he and the French defender had a falling out, he has recently made the consistent decision to leave the four-time Champions League winner off of his matchday squads.
These reports followed earlier this month’s rumors that Ten Hag and Varane were not communicating. Ten Hag, however, contests that and asserts that Varane is still an essential player for the group.
Erik ten Hag might rather have a player who is comfortable playing on the left side of defense, even though Maguire and Varane can occasionally play together.
Luke Shaw, who is making a comeback from an injury, can also cover that. Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof have both recently performed there. Varane, 30, will still have one year left on his contract by next summer. Erik ten Hag is attempting to improve as a center back. The fact that there are no longer any issues off the field, though, is fantastic news. There are crucial games coming up, and Varane’s presence in the team will be very helpful. We hope that United’s defense can perform at the same level as it did during the previous campaign.
