It will only be Sunderland’s eighth home game of the season at the customary Saturday 3pm time slot when they meet Queens Park Rangers this weekend at the Stadium of Light.

Only six of Sunderland’s eighteen games at the Stadium of Light this season have taken place on Saturdays at 3pm; the remaining twelve of the Black Cats’ home games are either midweek affairs or are slated for television with altered kickoff times.

Out of the six Saturday 3pm kickoffs at the Stadium of Light this season, Sunderland has won four and lost the other two. In those six games, the Black Cats have also scored 12 goals as opposed to giving up nine.

Sunderland 2-1 Rotherham

Sunderland defeated struggling Rotherham at home for their first victory of the season. as 20 minutes, the Black Cats were behind as Hakeem Odoffin gave the visitors the lead. However, two goals from Jobe Bellingham, a summer addition, gave the home team the victory.

Sunderland 3-1 Norwich

In October, Sunderland defeated Norwich 3-1, with Jack Clarke leading the way. After Ui-Jo Hwang’s goal put Sunderland ahead, Dan Neil and Trai Hume both scored goals before halftime to give Sunderland a 2-1 advantage at the interval. The game’s leading scorer for the Black Cats finished with a goal and an assist. Wearside would keep all three points after Clarke’s penalty in the 80th minute.

Sunderland 0-3 Coventry

Sunderland 1-2 Swansea

In his second stint as manager of the Swans, Mike Dodds’ first game was at home against Swansea, but Sunderland was not at their best, and the Swans took a 2-0 lead in less than thirty minutes. Even though Luke O’Nien scored a consolation goal in the 77th minute, the Black Cats would ultimately lose.
