Nicolo Barella is set to anchor Inter’s midfield when they face Young Boys in the Champions League, as Hakan Calhanoglu is sidelined due to injury.
Reports from Sky and La Gazzetta dello Sport suggest Barella will take the central role in Inter’s three-man midfield. With Kristjan Asllani also unavailable, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Davide Frattesi are expected to partner him.
Frattesi is likely to play the most advanced role, while Mkhitaryan could remain in his usual spot. Inter’s lineup is expected to be heavily rotated, especially with a crucial Serie A clash against Juventus approaching.
Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco may be tested, and reports hint that Marko Arnautovic and Mehdi Taremi will start up front, replacing Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez.
