Daniel Farke has ruled out signing players on loan deals with a guarantee of offering game time

Chris Wilder has vehemently denied claims that Sheffield United beat Leeds United to the loan signing of Jesurun Rak-Sakyi after offering game time assurances to parent club Crystal Palace.
The 21-year-old’s links with the Whites were brought to a halt earlier in the summer when his season-long deal with the South Yorkshire outfit was confirmed. It is believed that Rak-Sakyi was a Leeds target but a bid never materialised. United boss Daniel Farke has previously stated that he could not guarantee game time to loan players, stating minutes would be based on merit.
“A loan from the Premier League usually only comes for game-time,” Farke said around the time of Rak-Sakyi’s move to Bramall Lane. “We have a strong squad, so sometimes you can’t guarantee minutes. Names are not important but what you deliver on the training pitch, in games, what you show in the dressing room. It’s never a guarantee whoever I bring in that he plays.”
Cryscencio Summerville’s departure to West Ham forced Leeds into a position of opening multiple lines of enquiry, with Rak-Sakyi believed to be one of the options considered to replace the Dutchman. The signing of Largie Ramazani, with Manor Solomon poised to follow the Belgian through the door into Elland Road, should have drawn a line under the matter.
But an irked Wilder told The Star: “Jes has come here to play football, but there are no guarantees. I know another club put out there, to cover themselves, that we signed a guarantee that Jes played a certain amount of games. Absolute fabrication. There’s another word I’d like to use that I’m not sure I’ll be allowed to.”
