Harry Redknapp commended Newcastle’s stellar performance against Tottenham, selecting three Magpies for his weekend team.
Eddie Howe’s squad dominated Spurs, securing a convincing 4-0 victory at St James’ Park, bolstering their own European aspirations.
Redknapp highlighted Anthony Gordon and Fabian Schar as standout players but reserved particular acclaim for striker Alexander Isak, who scored twice during the match.
“My star man has to be Alexander Isak though, he was just world class against Spurs,” he told BetVictor.
“Some of his touches were brilliant and he was a nightmare for that Spurs defence. I like Micky van de Ven but Isak gave him the runaround at the weekend, he could have scored more than the two he got.
“People have compared this lad to Thierry Henry and you can see those comparisons. He’s not quite at that level yet but he’s got the lot and there’s not many strikers in world football better than him.”
