Harry Leonard discusses the highs and lows of Blackburn Rovers’ season

Harry Leonard is eager to maximize a “big” pre-season and impress John Eustace after a long injury absence.

Young forward Harry Leonard had a promising start last season, scoring four goals in 22 matches before a back injury cut his campaign short. Determined to impress John Eustace, who took charge at Ewood Park in February, Leonard is focused on a crucial pre-season. He aims to regain full fitness and show Eustace he can be trusted.

“The next few months will be big,” Leonard told RoversTV. “I need to show the manager he can rely on me.”

Leonard learned a lot from his time on the field, starting strong with a goal against West Brom. Despite facing challenges, he believes these experiences have made him stronger.

“When I was getting those minutes, playing in front of the fans at Ewood was everything. It spurred me on to play more and score more.”

With Sam Szmodics shouldering much of the scoring last season, Eustace has emphasized the need for more goal sources. Leonard hopes to contribute significantly in the upcoming season.

“I feel good running and shooting. The injury wasn’t ideal, but I’m taking the positives. I’m focused on having a great season.”
