Harry Cunningham has extended his contract for an additional two years.

Sydney Swans fan-favorite Harry Cunningham has signed a two-year contract extension, ensuring he remains with the team until at least the end of 2026. The New South Wales native, who has played 206 AFL games over 13 seasons, was originally drafted in the 2011 rookie draft and made his debut in the 2012 Sydney Derby against GWS.

Now 30, Cunningham is known for his resilience and often underrated contributions to the team. He has been honored as Sydney’s Best Clubman in 2018 and won the Swans’ Rising Star award in 2014. Beyond his on-field achievements, Cunningham has been a finalist three times for the Jim Stynes Community Leadership Award, recognizing his ongoing work with Redkite, an organization that supports children with cancer and their families.

Cunningham expressed his excitement about the next two years, saying, “The club took a chance on me all those years ago, and I’m proud to have repaid their faith. Signing on for two more seasons is fantastic.” He added, “We have a young, promising squad, and I believe we’re on the right path to success. I’m eager to be part of that journey.”

Cunningham looks forward to continuing his time at the club, confident that the future holds great potential for success.

Leon Cameron, the executive general manager of football for the Sydney Swans, expressed the team’s happiness at Cunningham’s decision to stay. Cameron stated, “Harry has been an essential part of our team for over ten years, regularly facing some of the top forwards in the league.” Harry is among our team’s most well-liked and respected players, which is more significant. He continues to set the bar high and leads by example both on and off the pitch. “We’re overjoyed that Harry will be working with us for the next two seasons.”
