Although some stories claim that Hailey Van Lith, a former guard for the LSU women’s basketball team, has officially committed to TCU, the former player informed The Associated Press that she has not yet decided where she wants to go.
Van Lith remarked, “I visited TCU and am very interested in them, but I also visited other schools and was very interested in them.” Although I haven’t formally committed, I am pretty close. For any school, the paper has not been touched by ink.
In Springfield, Massachusetts, on Saturday, Van Lith denied the rumors while taking part in a USA Basketball 3×3 training camp in the hopes of being selected for the American squad that will compete in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Van Lith was one of 17 players invited to camp, including with freshman Mikaylah Williams from LSU.
Ever since she registered on the NCAA transfer site on April 4, the former guard for LSU has been looking for a location to play her fifth season of college basketball.
Van Lith paid a visit to Mississippi State on April 13. She would reunite with head coach Sam Purcell, who coached Van Lith as an assistant at Louisville, if she chooses to play with the Bulldogs.
Van Lith played with the Cardinals for the first three seasons of her career before transferring to LSU for her final year. For the Tigers, she started all 33 of her games.
Van Lith, Kateri Poole, Angelica Velez, and Janae Kent were the four players that LSU lost to the portal thus far. Jersey Wolfenbarger, a 6-foot-5 forward from Arkansas, was the only athlete that the university signed.
