The Green Bay Packers are aiming to advance further in 2024, building on Jordan Love’s impressive first full season as starting quarterback. Love threw for over 4,000 yards and more than 30 touchdowns, bringing the team within three points of the NFC Championship game. For the Packers to become serious Super Bowl contenders this season, maintaining player health will be crucial. One of Love’s key targets from last year has some work ahead to be ready for the new season.
**Green Bay Packers’ Second-Year Weapon Injured During Offseason Workout**
Packers tight end Tucker Kraft tore his pectoral muscle while bench pressing this offseason. The injury will keep him out of training camp as he recovers from surgery. Kraft explained to Bill Huber of Packers Central, “It was my last rep of the day on bench. Nothing crazy, not heavy weight. We were speed-benching and it just popped right off the bone.” This type of injury is commonly caused by bench pressing.
During the recent OTAs, Kraft was seen wearing a sling, which is typically used post-surgery to immobilize the arm for 4-6 weeks. Due to the tendon rupturing from the bone, surgery was necessary. Although Kraft is expected to miss part of training camp, he should have ample time to recover and practice before the Week 1 opener against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil, giving him nearly four months to heal.
