During this offseason, the Green Bay Packers are anticipated to finalize a significant contract extension for quarterback Jordan Love.
Last season, the 25-year-old showcased his prowess by throwing for 4,159 yards and 32 passing touchdowns, ranking second in the league.
Despite facing challenges with interceptions, Love’s performance was notable, particularly in the NFC Wild Card Round where he guided the Packers to a surprise victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
It’s worth noting that Green Bay boasted one of the youngest rosters in the NFL during that season. However, their playoff journey was cut short in the Divisional Round with a narrow loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Recent reports have emerged regarding Love’s impending contract extension.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Packers are aiming to secure Love’s services with a lucrative deal, positioning him among the top quarterbacks in the league.
“The Packers are committed to getting something done with Love. He got the proof of concept last year with the big season, so they believe he’s their future,” Fowler explained. “This could heat up after the draft.
He’s due to make around $10 million next year. Signed a one-year bridge deal last offseason; should be a lot bigger, putting him somewhere probably in the top-10 highest-paid passers.”
