GOODNEWS: Buffalo Bills new stadium in construction hits new milestone

A significant advancement has been made in the building of the New Highmark Stadium, the Buffalo Bills football stadium designed by Populous.

The Orchard Park, New York, facility, which has 60,000 seats, is now prepared for major structural steel work. This marks the completion of excavation work, seven months after the project broke ground in June 2023.

The superstructure will be constructed using multiple enormous cranes and about 25,000 tonnes of steel. The steel will be erected in tiers over the next 12–14 months.

The stadium’s sections will be built out once the steel framework is in place, and the structure will then be covered with panels and equipped with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Construction on the 1.35-million-square-foot stadium is expected to be completed in 2026. The construction is being overseen by the Gilbane-Turner joint venture.
