Giants’ President of Baseball Operations Buster Posey Hires Former GM Bobby Evans and Agent Jeff Berry as Advisers
San Francisco Giants’ president of baseball operations Buster Posey has hired former GM Bobby Evans and longtime agent Jeff Berry as advisers. Posey had previously mentioned Evans and Berry as mentors, and the two will join the Giants’ front office staff.
Evans, who joined the Giants in 1994, worked his way up to assistant GM and ultimately GM, a position he held from 2015 to 2018. Berry, who represented Posey through the agency CAA, will provide valuable insight and guidance to Posey.
The hiring of Evans and Berry is seen as a significant move for the Giants, as they look to rebuild and compete in the highly competitive National League West.
Posey has also been in communication with Brian Sabean, the architect of the Giants’ championship era, and it is possible that Sabean could join the Giants as an adviser in the future.
The Giants are looking to bounce back from a disappointing season, and the hiring of Evans and Berry is seen as a key step in the right direction.
