The Boston Bruins are expected to have captain Brad Marchand back for Game 6 tonight, while the Florida Panthers anticipate the return of Ryan Lomberg and Nick Cousins.
Boston coach Jim Montgomery mentioned that Marchand still had “a few steps” to clear and would be a game-time decision. Marchand has been sidelined since Game 3 but participated in practice on Thursday and the morning skate on Friday. Montgomery emphasized Marchand’s importance, calling him “our leader, our captain, our heart and soul.”
Meanwhile, Florida coach Paul Maurice defended the returns of Cousins and Lomberg, stating they didn’t deserve to be out of the lineup. Lomberg has been out since Game 1 of the Lightning series, and Cousins was replaced when Sam Bennett returned in Game 3 of the current series. Maurice highlighted their energy and contribution to the team, both on and off the ice.
The game will feature Jeremy Swayman in goal for Boston and Sergei Bobrovsky for Florida. Game 6 is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Boston Garden, with the Panthers leading the series 3-2.
