Forest News: Nuno’s update on Awoniyi’s fitness, why Nott’m V liverpool is not on TV and how to stream guide

Following his recovery from a groin injury, Taiwo Awoniyi has been gradually increasing his match fitness, and Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo is confident that the player will soon be back to full strength.

The November surgery sidelined the Nigerian international for nine Premier League games, preventing him from competing in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Awoniyi scored in the 89th minute in Forest’s 2-1 victory over Arsenal on January 30 to make his comeback. On February 17, the team defeated West Ham 2-0, and Awoniyi scored again.

In the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday, Nuno’s team lost 1-0 to Manchester United despite the 26-year-old striker playing the full ninety minutes.
Speaking ahead of the home clash with league leaders Liverpool on Saturday, Nuno feels Awoniyi is making steady progress with his fitness.

“He played a crucial role in the previous game (against Manchester United), not just for 45 minutes, but he managed to finish the entire game today,” the Portuguese tactician said in his pre-match press conference.

“I believe he’s progressing in terms of fitness. He had been out for a considerable period, so his recovery for the next match will be vital.”

Football fans across the world will be watching the much awaited match between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest as the Premier League title chase and relegation battle heated up. The match, which is set to begin at 3 p.m. today at Nottingham’s City Ground, is expected to be a critical struggle for Nottingham Forest’s survival in the top division as well as a test of Liverpool’s title aspirations.

Unfortunately for fans of both clubs, the game will not be broadcast on TV or live stream in the United Kingdom – much like Liverpool’s clash with Burnley in early February.

That’s because this Saturday’s fixture is a 3pm GMT kick-off that falls within the UK’s blackout period, in which no games can be televised in a bid to help support local and lower league clubs.

Outside of the UK, the match will be shown across the globe, with fuboTV holding the rights in Canada and Peacock broadcasting the game in the United States.

DAZN and Viaplay are two of the dozens of platforms showing the match across Europe, while those in South America can tune in on Star+.

beIN Sports and SuperSport are the main providers in Asia and Africa respectively.
