Forced transfer move comes up at Goodison park as Player development close to being sealed

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has been linked with a move to Everton as he appears set to leave this summer.

The Daily Mail reported on 2 August that Atletico are looking to complete a move for the England international who’s expected to cost 34million this summer.

The Athletic claimed on 2 August that the London side are keen on protecting their financial interests with regards to the 24-year-old and are showing Gallagher the door as he’s expected to be a squad player under Enzo Maresca.

If he prefers to stay in England, it may spark Kevin Thelwell and the Toffees into action who are looking to replace Amadou Onana.

The Telegraph reported in February that Everton would consider a summer move for the midfielder as his transfer value is falling.

Everton must re-enter the fray for Conor Gallagher

Gallagher to Goodison Park would make sense for the club due to his proven Premier League experience and ability to contribute goals and assists from midfield.

His loan spells at West Brom and Crystal Palace showcased his talent and he also showed what he could offer under the right stewardship last season under Mauricio Pochettino.

The Toffees could benefit from his energy, work rate and versatility.

Gallagher’s potential arrival would also inject some much-needed creativity and dynamism into their midfield, which has lacked a consistent goal threat from that area in recent seasons.

He can not only be a box-to-box midfielder but also a ball winner who can give his side the competitive edge in physical battles – something Sean Dyche will admire.
