Five Packers hopefuls worth noting at tryouts.

The contenders for a roster spot include the offspring of a past Packers wide receiver, an All-American player, and a former draft pick.

In Green Bay, the Packers are hosting their 2024 rookie camp with 18 tryout players, a few of whom might earn spots on the team. Among them is quarterback Jacob Eason, formerly of the Colts and Panthers, who’s competing against a trio of young quarterbacks already on the roster. Here are five other hopefuls aiming to secure a spot:

1. Wide receiver Dimitri Stanley, known for his skills at Colorado and Iowa State, impressed with a notable catch during practice. He’s also got a family connection to the Packers.

2. Offensive lineman Lecitus Smith, a former Cardinals draft pick, brings some NFL experience despite facing tough competition on the Packers’ offensive line.

3. Cornerbacks Kalon Gervin and Don Callis offer depth to a position group that could use some reinforcement behind Jaire Alexander.

4. Punter Porter Wilson, a standout from Duke, stands out as the lone punter in camp and boasts an impressive record from his college days.

The final decision on these tryout players will come after Saturday’s last rookie camp practice, with team activities starting on May 20th.
