Everton were anticipated to have a low-key summer, focusing more on potential departures than new signings.
Everton’s Summer Transfer Shift
Initially expected to have a quiet summer, Everton’s transfer narrative has shifted dramatically. Just weeks into the window, they’ve already made one signing and are poised to welcome another, as they agree on a fee for Iliman Ndiaye. The activity at Goodison Park suggests their revamp is far from over.
Pursuing Aaron Wan-Bissaka
According to talkSPORT, Everton is actively pursuing Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Despite financial constraints, they are one of several clubs interested in the right-back, who is also a target for Galatasaray. Sean Dyche, Everton’s manager, is also reportedly interested in United’s center-back Victor Lindelof.
A Perfect Fit for Dyche’s Vision
Sean Dyche’s tenure at Everton has been marked by a focus on defensive solidity. Last season, Everton kept the second-most clean sheets and conceded the fourth-fewest goals in the Premier League. Adding a defensively strong player like Wan-Bissaka, who is regarded as one of the best one-on-one defenders by James Maddison, could further enhance their defensive lineup.
While there are concerns about Wan-Bissaka’s attacking skills, his youth and potential make him a valuable asset compared to Seamus Coleman and Ashley Young. With Nathan Patterson still unproven, Wan-Bissaka could provide the defensive strength needed to make Everton an impenetrable force. This is definitely a transfer to keep an eye on.
