Ed Sheeran choosing to skip the F1 Miami Grand Prix instead of Ipswich’s possible promotion party

Famous Ipswich Town supporter Ed Sheeran chose Formula One over the team this weekend at the Miami Grand Prix, even though his team has a chance to advance to the Premier League.

If the Tractor Boys win promotion to the Premier League on Saturday, they will be without their most well-known supporter.

Ed Sheeran has chosen to travel to the Miami Grand Prix over maybe watching his team return to the top division, but he has promised to watch the match with supporters while he is there. In the round of simultaneous kickoffs on Saturday, Kieran McKenna’s team simply needs a draw at home against Huddersfield to tie for second place in the Championship and automatic promotion.

‘Castle On the Hill’ singer will be present this weekend as F1 star Max Verstappen looks to win the Miami GP for the third race in as many editions. Since the race’s inception in 2022, the Dutchman has dominated the east coast event, and he hopes to increase his lead in the standings over Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez.

And it seems that making history at Portman Road would not matter as much as performing at the Miami showdown twice. As champion Leicester City has already secured the top slot, Ipswich is about to receive their first Premier League promotion since 2002.
