DONE DEAL: Houston Texans sign former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Steven Sims

In the middle of their postseason run, the Houston Texans are adding a powerful wideout/special team player. They are adding former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Steven Sims to their active roster in anticipation of their Divisional playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens. Sims played for the Steelers for two seasons, mainly as a punt and kick returner in 2021 and 2022. He returned 17 kicks for 434 yards and 19 punts for 105 yards in 13 games. He has appeared in three games for the Texans this season, hauling in four punt returns for 49 yards, three kick returns for 71 yards, and three receptions for 25 yards.

The Baltimore Ravens and the Texans will play in the Divisional round of the playoffs. Houston lost wide receiver Noah Brown during their victory over the Cleveland Browns in the Wild Card game. As time goes on, they’ll try to replace him with a number of wideouts, including Sims.
