Eberechi Eze, a target for Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, is reportedly eager to leave Crystal Palace, according to Football Insider.
Tottenham strengthened their attack this summer by signing Dominic Solanke and Wilson Odobert, while Timo Werner joined on loan from RB Leipzig. However, Werner is expected to return to the Bundesliga as he hasn’t done enough to earn a permanent deal with Spurs.
Now, Tottenham are reportedly exploring new forward options, with Eberechi Eze being a target, according to Football Insider. Spurs were linked with Eze during the summer but chose not to pursue a deal before the deadline. Eze has a £68 million release clause in his contract, set to reactivate next summer, but the player is now pushing to leave Crystal Palace, which could force the club to sell him for a lower price.
Liverpool are also interested in Eze and were reportedly considering a move this summer, though they didn’t make a formal approach. If Spurs want to sign him, they will have to beat Liverpool in the race. Eze is versatile, able to play as an attacking midfielder or on the left flank, which would provide depth to Liverpool’s midfield, especially with Dominik Szoboszlai as their only option in the number 10 role.
Turning 27 next year, Eze is at the prime of his career and is a key player for Crystal Palace and a regular for the England national team. Signing him would be a significant move for either Tottenham or Liverpool.
