Confirmed Move: As Leeds United Finds ‘excellent’ replacement for player that has agreed terms with new club…

Glen Kamara is unlikely to be the last player to be sold by Leeds United with another key player under Daniel Farke now agreeing terms with a new club, and Leeds have identified a replacement.

Kamara completed a move to Rennes this week on a four-year deal believed to be worth in the region of £8.5m. The 59-time Finland star departs after just a year at Elland Road, and is the club’s sixth sale.

He follows Archie Gray, Kris Klaesson, Charlie Cresswell, Diego Llorente and Marc Roca in departing the club for pastures new. The 49ers have managed to take in around £60m for the sales of the six players.

Others are expected to follow as Leeds continue to work on outgoings before incoming. Willy Gnonto is said to be the subject of interest from 10 clubs, while Rasmus Kristensen is close to a Frankfurt loan move.

Leeds assist machine now set to join Kamara in leaving club

Namely, Junior Firpo is now emerging as the likeliest candidate to leave Leeds next. The left-back was wonderful on the left flank for Leeds but report says Firpo has now agreed personal terms with Real Betis.

But with his contract expiring next summer, Leeds have a choice. Sell this summer, or risk losing him on a free in 12 months. His old side Real Betis have now agreed terms with Firpo, joining Roca and Llorente.

With the only other full-back on the books in the form of Sam Byram, Leeds are set to be left with no left-footer on the left of defence. But, Estadio Deportivo say Leeds have identified an ‘excellent’ replacement.

Anselmo MacNulty has already been touted with Leeds move

The Spanish report says Leeds have picked 21-year-old Spain-born Ireland U21 star Anselmo MacNulty as his replacement. Ironically, a player that was in Betis’ academy until 2019 and one still on their radar.

But the report states that Leeds will only sanction the sale of Firpo if they can get the PEC Zwolle star in the door at Elland Road. A centre-back or a left-back, he had a hand in four goals in 32 games last term.

It is unclear how much Zwolle would want for their left-footed ace, but MacNulty has been linked with Leeds already this summer. A move for Firpo then is set to hinge on whether Leeds can land MacNulty.
