Former Stoke City midfielder released early by Championship rivals
Birmingham City have outmaneuvered Huddersfield Town to sign Alfie May, last season’s top scorer in League One. The Blues secured May for a £775,000 fee, beating the Terriers, who showed interest only recently. May, who netted 23 goals for Charlton Athletic, is a significant acquisition for Birmingham’s new American owners, who aim to return to the Championship immediately.
