Bulls pundits Stacey King and Adam Amin were duped into believing Derrick Rose is retiring by a phony Adrian Wojnarowski post.
On Saturday night, analysts Stacey King and Adam Amin of NBC Sports Chicago went viral for all the wrong reasons. King fell for a hoax Adrian Wojnarowski post during the Chicago Bulls vs. Washington Wizards game broadcast, believing Derrick Rose was going to retire.
“It is available online,” King declared. “Adrian Wojnarowski reporting that Derrick Rose is retiring after 15 seasons.”
The topic of Rose’s Bulls career was then brought up by King and Amin. It took them a few minutes to come to the conclusion that they might have been duped. When King informed Amin that some were saying he was duped by a bogus tweet, Amin said he was still awaiting confirmation.
You can see how it may have appeared on King’s timeline based on the astounding 69K likes and 13K retweets this post has received. However, he should exercise far greater caution in what he says on television, particularly when the subject is as important as this.
King ought to have confirmed again with the producer or any other member of the team, as Wojnarowski is being impersonated by a lot of these phony accounts. The next time out, he most likely will act in like manner.Regarding Rose, he is still a member of the Memphis Grizzlies and has not yet announced his retirement. However, he has been sidelined since being diagnosed with osteitis pubis.
Despite playing in just 24 games for the Grizzlies this 2023–24 season, Rose has averaged 8.0 points, 1.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 0.3 steals per contest. He isn’t leaving quite yet, but the end is in sight.
Rose’s professional trajectory is very regrettable. When he earned the MVP title in 2011 at the age of 22 years and seven months, he became the youngest MVP ever, having been selected by the Bulls with the first choice of the 2008 NBA Draft.
His misery of injuries continued when he tore his ACL the following year. Rose has faced several obstacles, but you applaud him for playing for as long as he has now.
In his prime, Norris Cole claims that point guards would fabricate injuries in order to avoid facing Derrick Rose.
It was undoubtedly not a pleasant experience for Norris Cole to face Rose at the height of his powers. Point guards would fabricate injuries, according to the former NBA champion, in order to avoid facing Rose during his prime.
“When people inquire about the toughest person I have ever had to protect, I respond, ‘D-Rose was the toughest guy.'” Derrick Rose was too strong a foe for any of your favorite point guards from today. I don’t mean to offend, but Steph (en Curry), Kai (Kyrie Irving), and them have no chance against that guy. The D-Rose flu was spreading among people. Cats were not interested in playing when he was entering.”
Cole made a strong assertion, and it might be true. Almost everyone would have chosen Rose if you had told them before the 2012 playoffs which point guard would go on to dominate the NBA for the next ten years. Instead, because of all the injuries, he was unable to continue, and Stephen Curry became the dominant player.
