General manager of the Cleveland Browns Andrew Berry is working hard to be ready for the April 25 NFL Draft, just like every other team.
However, it doesn’t mean Berry isn’t looking for other chances, through trade or NFL free agency, to bolster the Browns’ roster.
The Browns are a squad that other teams would love to add to their core because of their outstanding roster on both sides of the ball. However, the Browns are not prepared to start off-loading some of their talent; they are in the business of fighting for a chance to make a run at the postseason.
Despite this, other teams have still gotten in touch with Cleveland regarding a few of the players on their roster, including the 26th overall pick in the 2021 draft Greg Newsome II.
The Browns of Cleveland are unwilling to trade Greg Newsome II.
Despite multiple trade speculations involving Newsome, the 23-year-old appears to be uninterested in leaving the Browns.
“I can’t help what players come up in trading rumors. We have that every year, but we’re pleased with Greg, anticipate him continuing to play a big role for us.”
Cleveland Browns GM Andrew Berry on Greg Newsome trade rumors
Newsome hasn’t lived up to his draft status, despite starting 39 of the 41 games in which he has participated since joining Cleveland three seasons ago. However, Newsome is a useful player who, as Berry mentioned, contributes significantly to Cleveland’s defense under Jim Schwartz.
