Broncos GM, George Paton hints moves for a new QB-‘We’re still in the quarterback market’

Is QB1 Jarrett Stidham’s time with the Denver Broncos finally here? George Paton, general manager, says not quite yet.

Despite sitting on their hands for the most of free agency, general manager George Paton of the Denver Broncos says they are still considering experienced quarterbacks.

It’s an intriguing sentiment, to put it mildly. Following QB Russell Wilson’s release, very little to no attempt was made to sign a placeholder quarterback of any kind. It was said that Sam Arnold was too costly. For Justin Fields, no trade offer was made. And so, finally, we arrive to the fantasy of Jarrett Stidham starting as Sean Payton’s starting quarterback in the second year.

But first, let’s briefly apply the brakes. In a recent interview with the Denver Post, Paton discussed the quarterback position and stated that the organization desires competition at the position.

“We’re still in the quarterback market,” Paton said. “We like ‘Stiddy’ but we’re going to add. We’re not panicked. We won’t play games for a while.“We feel like we’ll add a veteran and we’ll see about the draft.”

Thus, yes! We do not need to be concerned about taking a big risk on Stidham! Cheers! However, the whole “let’s see about the draft” thing is intriguing.

There are only really two quarterbacks left: Zach Wilson and Ryan Tannehill. Is it realistically expected that Sean Payton will bring one of them to Denver?
